About Mr. Librarian

A librarian's job is to catalogue, source and compare — not to preach. That is the whole ethos of this site: every claim sourced, every alternative shown, the working left visible so you can check it, and one reader's opinions labelled as exactly that.

Who

mistertranslation.com is kept by one person, writing under the name Mr. Librarian. There is no staff, no editorial board and no sponsor. The name is a posture rather than a disguise: the publications here are meant to be judged by their sources and their reasoning, not by who is holding the pen. What began in 2026 as a single project — a fresh translation of the Bible from the Hebrew and Greek, one chapter at a time — has grown into six, each with its own front door and its own rules.

How it's made

The site is plain static pages, built by hand and by script, hosted on GitHub Pages, with no framework and no database. Facts are drawn from public sources in good faith, linked where they can be, and may be misread, superseded or simply wrong — check the originals before relying on anything here. Corrections are welcome and are made; the form below is the way to send one. Nothing on this site is professional advice of any kind, and no reply from Mr. Librarian is either. How readers' data is (and mostly isn't) handled is set out in the privacy policy.

Write to Mr. Librarian

A correction, a question, a chapter request, an argument with a translation choice, a restaurant that deserved better — send it in. Bible-project questions can also go straight to the project's own question box, where good ones become Dear Mr. Librarian posts.

Received. Your message is on the librarian's desk. If you left an email, you may get a reply directly.

Sending shows a quick captcha (keeps the robots out of the library), then brings you back here. Nothing is posted publicly — messages go straight to Mr. Librarian's inbox.
