This site is a handful of reading projects kept by one person under the name Mr. Librarian. It has no accounts, no logins, no newsletter list and nothing to sell you, so there is not much to say here — but a privacy policy should say exactly what happens, and this one does.
The short version
Visits are counted without cookies and without identifying you. Your reading preferences stay in your own browser. If you write in, what you send goes to Mr. Librarian's inbox and nowhere else. Embedded maps, videos and any advertising are provided by third parties who have their own policies, described below. Nothing is sold, rented or traded.
mistertranslation.com is a personal publication kept by a single individual writing as Mr. Librarian. It comprises the Bible translation project (English and Spanish editions), The Librarian's Ledger (/finance/), The Librarian Abroad (/travel/), The Librarian's Regimen (/health/), The Librarian's Notebook (/notebook/) and Eight Miles West (/west/). This policy covers all of them. You can reach the person responsible through the contact form.
Visit counts. The site measures how many people read each page using GoatCounter, a privacy-first analytics service. It sets no cookies, does not retain IP addresses, does not build a profile of you and does not follow you across other websites. It records, per page view: the page visited, the referring page (if your browser sends one), your browser and screen size in broad terms, and your country. Some of these totals are shown publicly on the pages themselves as a view count. Because nothing personal is collected, no consent banner is shown — there is nothing to consent to.
Server logs. The site is static files hosted on GitHub Pages. As with any web host, GitHub's servers may log the IP address of a request for security and abuse-prevention purposes; that is governed by GitHub's privacy statement, and Mr. Librarian has no access to those logs.
A few pages remember your choices — whether the Hebrew or Greek text is hidden, whether the Spanish panel is open, which voice and speed the read-aloud player uses — in your browser's own local storage. That data never leaves your device and is not sent to this site or anyone else. Clear your browser's site data and it is gone.
The question and contact forms are delivered by FormSubmit, which forwards what you type — your message, and your name and email address if you choose to give them — to Mr. Librarian's private inbox, with a captcha in between to keep robots out. Your email address is used only to reply to you. Reader questions sometimes become posts; when they do, they are published anonymously unless you asked to be credited. Messages are kept in that inbox and nowhere else. If you would like something you sent deleted, say so through the same form and it will be.
Some pages embed content from other services. When you view such a page, your browser fetches that content directly from the provider, who may set its own cookies or log the request under its own policy:

Advertising is the one place on this site where a third party might set a cookie that follows you elsewhere. Everything else on this page is cookie-free.
Nothing on this site is directed at children under 13, and no personal information is knowingly collected from them. If you believe a child has sent something through a form, write in and it will be removed.
There are no accounts to delete and no profile to export. You can block the visit counter and any embedded content with an ordinary content blocker without breaking the site. You can ask for anything you have sent to be deleted, and you can ask what, if anything, is held about you — the honest answer will usually be "the message you sent." Requests go through the contact form. Where the law of your country grants further rights (access, correction, erasure, objection), they will be honoured.
If any of this changes — a new embedded service, ads switched on, a different host — this page will be updated and the date at the top will move. Material changes will also be noted on the site's front page for a while.
