🧭 Abram's Migration — Ur to Canaan

The book gives no itinerary at all between Haran and Shechem — "they set out for the land of Canaan, and they arrived." This is the route reconstructed from the geography and from Jacob's later journey run in reverse (Genesis 31–33), the line the biblical archaeologist Joel Kramer retraces on the ground in the Expedition Abraham film (catalogued at the Ur and Abram entries). The northern arc follows the Euphrates — with herds you travel at the speed of water, not straight across the desert — and the southern leg comes down through Gilead, crosses the Jordan at the ford by Adam, and climbs to Shechem.
