Seventh from Adam: the one man in Genesis 5 who does not die — 'Enoch walked with God, and then he was not there, for God took him' (5:24), at 365 years. The later Book of Enoch grew from these two verses (see the Dear Mr. Librarian post). Distinct from Cain's son Enoch (4:17), for whom the first city was named.
