'My God is King' — a man of Bethlehem, husband of NAOMI, who takes his family to sojourn in MOAB during a famine and dies there (Ruth 1:2-3), leaving the name and land that Boaz will later 'redeem' by marrying Ruth (4:9-10). His heavy, hopeful name stands over a story of exile and death — and then over a kingship, David's, restored through his line.
