Eliezer (son of Moses)

Moses' second son by Zipporah — named only once in the entire Bible, at Exodus 18:4, decades after his birth was never narrated at all. ⚠ The name means 'my God is help,' and the verse supplies its own explanation in Moses' own voice: 'for the God of my father was my help, and delivered me from the sword of Pharaoh' — the only first-person naming-speech given to Moses anywhere in the text, retroactively filling a birth Exodus 2 skipped in silence. Not to be confused with Abraham's servant Eliezer of Damascus (Genesis 15:2) or the many other Eliezers scattered through later genealogies — a common name built on a common root.

in the text Exod 18:4
