WOOD, timber — the cut thing, not the ordinary word for a living tree (that is dendron). ⚠ It is what the New Testament uses of the CROSS (Acts 5:30, 10:39, 13:29; Galatians 3:13; 1 Peter 2:24), and it is also the word for the TREE OF LIFE in Revelation — promised to the first church at 2:7, growing on both banks of the river at 22:2, and named again at 22:14 and 22:19. Nothing in Revelation presses the double sense and the word carries it anyway. → first discussed at Rev 22:2
