LOW ESTATE, lowliness, humiliation — a lowly CONDITION, not humility as a virtue. In the Magnificat God 'looked on the TAPEINOSIS of his bondslave' (1:48), the very word Hannah's Greek song uses (1 Samuel 1:11).
