First, the manuscripts split on whether ho theos, GOD, is the subject — Westcott-Hort prints it, NA28 and the Byzantine text do not, and NWT/TNM follow the longer reading while KJV/ASV/RV follow the shorter. Second, and more useful: this verb is the EIGHTH OF NINE syn- compounds running through Romans 8, so the best-known promise in the chapter is one beat in a pattern rather than a standalone guarantee. → first discussed at Rom 8:28
