A SEAL — the impression a signet ring leaves in wax, stamped on a document or a jar of goods to mark it as genuinely owned and to prove it had not been tampered with. To be 'sealed' by God (2 Corinthians 1:22; Ephesians 1:13; 4:30) is to be marked as authentically his. The image runs through Revelation, where the servants of God are sealed on the forehead (Rev 7:3) and the scroll of destiny is sealed with seven seals.
