ruqqam רֻקַּם ruqqam

EMBROIDERED — needlework in coloured thread, from raqam. The related noun names the craftsman who wove the tabernacle's variegated hangings (Exodus 26:36, 35:35), so it is a skilled-trade word rather than a general one for making. Psalm 139:15 uses it of a person being formed 'in the depths of the earth' — a poetic equivalence that puts being formed in the womb and being formed in the underworld in one line. → first discussed at Psalms 139:15
