rishah רִשְׁעָה rish'ah

WICKEDNESS — the feminine abstract noun, built on the same root as rasha, 'the wicked (one),' the Psalms' standing foil for the righteous. At Zechariah 5:8 it is personified outright and given a body: 'this is Wickedness,' the angel says of the woman sealed inside the flying measuring-basket — an abstraction made small enough to shove down, seal shut, and fly out of the land entirely. → first discussed at Zechariah 5:8
