'Leah's eyes were rakkot' (29:17) — and the shelf cannot agree what that means, because the word runs from 'weak, dull' to 'tender, delicate, soft.' KJV 'tender eyed'; many read it as a DEFECT — weak or watery eyes — set against Rachel's full-bodied beauty, so the sister no one chose is marked from the start; others hear a compliment, 'soft/lovely eyes,' her one loveliness.
