A PROPHETESS — the feminine of prophētēs. The Greek Old Testament uses it of Miriam (Exodus 15:20), Deborah (Judges 4:4) and Huldah (2 Kings 22:14). ⚠ In the New Testament it appears twice: of Anna at Luke 2:36, where Luke gives her the title flatly and without argument in the middle of a sentence, and of 'Jezebel' at Revelation 2:20, where it is a charge.
