A THING MADE — a work of craftsmanship, composed rather than assembled; the direct ancestor of English 'poem'. ⚠ It occurs only twice in the New Testament: of the created world itself, visible evidence of its maker (Romans 1:20), and here, of a person — 'we are his poiēma, created in Christ Jesus for good works' (Ephesians 2:10). The same word for what God made in six days is used of what God makes of one life. → first discussed at Ephesians 2:10
