FULL ASSURANCE — from plērophoreō, to carry something all the way to full measure, to fill right up. The image is of being brought completely to conviction rather than merely persuaded; the related verb is used of a matter being fully accomplished and of a person being fully convinced in their own mind (Romans 14:5). At 1 Thessalonians 1:5 it is the fourth item in the list of how the gospel arrived — word, power, holy spirit, and much plērophoria — describing the state it produced in the hearers.
