pharmakos φαρμακός pharmakos

A DEALER IN DRUGS AND POTIONS, and so a sorcerer — the two trades were not separated. It is the word behind PHARMACY. ⚠ The family occurs five times: Galatians 5:20 (pharmakeia in the works of the flesh), Revelation 9:21, 18:23, 21:8 and 22:15. KJV and ASV print 'sorcerers', NIV 'those who practice magic arts', RV 'hechiceros'; all are reasonable and all lose the drug trade that is sitting in the word. → first discussed at Rev 21:8
