ONE CALLED ALONGSIDE — from para + kaleō. Comforter, Helper, Advocate, Counselor, Paraclete: no English or Spanish word carries the legal sense, the consoling sense and the summoned-alongside sense at once, which is why there are five candidates and no winner. ⚠ It occurs FIVE times: John 14:16, 14:26, 15:26, 16:7 — and 1 John 2:1, where the paraklētos is JESUS. That fifth one is decisive, because John 14:16 says ANOTHER paraklētos, and another implies a first. ⚠ KJV, ASV and RV all print 'Comforter'/'Consolador' in John and 'advocate'/'abogado' in 1 John — one Greek word, two words in the receiving language, inside a single Bible, and the reader loses the argument.
