(18:14) — the shelf's 'too hard' flattens it; Jeremiah asks the question back almost word for word (Jeremiah 32:17, 27). ⭐ The root stands in eight verses, and the range inside those eight is the interesting part: besides Genesis 18:14 it marks a vow SET APART from ordinary vows (Leviticus 27:2, Numbers 6:2), and then, at Deuteronomy 17:8, a legal case too EXTRAORDINARY for a village bench, which must go up to the chosen place. ⚠ Every English version on the shelf flattens that one to difficulty; the sense is not that the case is hard but that it is out of the ordinary run.
