A SHIP — a sea-going vessel, as against the tevah, the box Noah floats in. ⭐ Ships stand in two verses in the Torah: Zebulun’s shore for ships in Jacob’s blessing (Genesis 49:13, already on these pages) and Deuteronomy 28:68, where Jehovah will bring you back to Egypt in ships — the exodus reversed by sea. After the Torah they are Solomon’s fleet at Ezion-geber, the ships of Tarshish Isaiah and the psalms sink, the ship Jonah pays his fare on (Jonah 1:3), the merchant ships the capable wife is likened to (Proverbs 31:14), and the many ships of the king of the north (Daniel 11:40, all already on these pages).
