LITTLE-FAITH — one Greek word, oligos ('little') + pistis ('faith'), and as far as we can tell Matthew's own coinage; it appears in the New Testament essentially only on Jesus' lips. ⚠ It is NOT unbelief. The disciples in the boat woke him, which is a kind of faith; what he objects to is its SIZE (Matthew 8:26). He uses it again to Peter sinking on the water (14:31), to all of them over the bread (16:8), and at 6:30 of people who worry about clothes. The word is a rebuke and a diagnosis rather than a dismissal — the same people are still in the boat, and still called disciples, at the end of the sentence. → first discussed at Matt 8:26
