It is the metal of the tabernacle’s altar and of the serpent Moses lifts on the pole (Numbers 21:9, already on these pages), nechash nechoshet. ⭐ The word stands in three verses of this book: the copper Israel will quarry from the hills of the good land (8:9, already on these pages), the sky over a cursed Israel’s head (28:23), and Asher’s bars of iron and bronze at 33:25. ⚠ Leviticus 26:19 (already on these pages) had made the sky like iron and the land like bronze; Deuteronomy turns the metals over and drops the like.
