A POSSESSION, inheritance held by grant — the last of the seven 'I will' promises: 'I will give it to you as a MORASHAH' (Exodus 6:8). The word is rarer and more formal than the common 'inheritance' (nachalah), and it stresses that the land is not seized but GIVEN, held from the giver: Israel's title deed runs through the oath sworn to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
