mo'ed מוֹעֵד mo'ed

'Appointed time' — Genesis 1:14's word: the lights are hung 'for appointed times' (mo'adim), this translation's fixed rendering. In Daniel 12:7 time itself is measured in them — 'an appointed time, appointed times, and a half': the broken seven, three and a half, sworn by the One who lives forever. Later the word also names the tent of MEETING (ohel mo'ed) — appointed time, appointed place. → first discussed at Gen 1:14
