A KNEADING-BOWL — the vessel dough is worked in, and the humblest object the covenant blesses. ⭐ The noun stands in four verses of the Hebrew Bible, and the first two are the exodus: the frogs climb into your ovens and into your kneading bowls (Exodus 7:28, already on these pages), and on the night of departure the people carry their kneading bowls bound up in their cloaks on their shoulders (12:34). Then Deuteronomy 28:5 blesses it beside the basket and 28:17 curses it. ⚠ The shelf cannot agree what it is: the ASV, NIV and NWT 1984 read a kneading-trough, the Geneva ‘thy dough’, the KJV ‘thy store’ and the Douay ‘thy stores’ after the Vulgate’s reliquiae, leftovers — and the RV 1909 follows the Latin into «tus sobras», which the RV60 corrects to «artesa de amasar». → first discussed at Deut 28:5
