A hapax legomenon, standing in exactly one verse of the whole Hebrew Bible — Deuteronomy 33:25's ‘iron and bronze are your min’alekha’. Built on the root na’al, which covers both a SANDAL and a door-BOLT or lock, nothing elsewhere in the Bible settles which sense this form carries. The shelf splits four to nine: KJV, Geneva 1599 and Douay-Rheims all read footwear (‘thy shoes’, ‘thy shoes’, ‘his shoe’), and the RV 1909 the same, «tu calzado» — while ASV, NWT 1984, NIV, the RV60 and the rest read hardware for a gate instead. → first discussed at Deut 33:25
