mezimmah מְזִמָּה mezimmah

DISCRETION, discernment — shrewd forethought, the ability to think a matter through to its end (1:4). From zamam, 'to plan, to devise' — the same root serves for scheming EVIL (Psalm 37:12), so mezimmah is morally neutral shrewdness, the planning-faculty pointed the right way. KJV 'discretion'; NWT 'thinking ability'; it is what keeps the wise out of the trap the simple walk into. → first discussed at Gen 1:4
