machashavah מַחֲשָׁבָה machashavah

A THOUGHT, plan, design — from chashav, to reckon or devise. Jeremiah 29:11's machshevot shalom, 'plans of shalom', is the most quoted occurrence; the same noun is what God says his thoughts are NOT like ours at Isaiah 55:8. It carries deliberation rather than mere intention: something worked out. → first discussed at Jer 29:11
