MAJESTY, splendour — the visible weight of an office or a person, closer to bearing than to beauty. ⭐ Numbers 27:20 does something with it that happens nowhere else in the Hebrew Bible: Moses is told to put me-hodkha, some FROM your majesty, onto Joshua. Searched across the archived text that partitive form stands in exactly one verse — this one. ⚠ A portion of one person's splendour is transferred to another, and the quantifier is load-bearing: Joshua gets a share, not the office entire, and the next verse says what the missing part was, since he must now go through a priest and the Urim where Moses spoke directly. The shelf mostly keeps the 'some' (KJV 'some of thine honour', NWT 1984 'some of your dignity', NIV 'some of your authority', RV60 «de tu dignidad»); the ASV drops the quantifier and with it the point. → first discussed at Num 27:20
