'The SINEW of the nasheh' — the thigh-tendon (traditionally the sciatic nerve) that the wrestling angel touched, leaving Jacob limping (32:26, 33). Because of that night, 'the children of Israel do not eat the sinew of the thigh, to this day' — an observance kept in kosher law ever since (the nerve and its branches are removed from an animal's hindquarters, or the hindquarters not eaten at all).
