One who WORKS LAND — farmer, tenant, vinedresser. ⚠ It appears nineteen times in the New Testament, and in the Synoptic parable of the vineyard (Matthew 21, Mark 12, Luke 20) the geōrgoi are the villains: the tenants who beat the servants and kill the son. John 15:1 gives the same word to THE FATHER. ⚠ Note also that John has a separate word for a gardener, kēpouros, which he uses at 20:15 of the man Mary mistakes Jesus for — so 'gardener' at 15:1 is not what he wrote.
