GLORY — weight, splendour, the visible worth of a thing; the root of 'doxology'. In classical Greek it means opinion or reputation (hence 'orthodox', right opinion, and 'paradox', beside opinion), but the Greek Old Testament pressed it into service for the Hebrew kavod, 'weight' — the heaviness of God's presence that fills the tabernacle.
