dir'on דֵּרָאוֹן dir'on

'Abhorrence' — the dark pole of Daniel 12:2's double waking ('these to everlasting life, and these to... everlasting abhorrence'; KJV 'contempt'). Only twice in the Hebrew Bible: here, and Isaiah 66:24's closing image of corpses 'whose worm shall not die' — the picture Jesus borrows for Gehenna. → first discussed at Dan 12:2
