COWARDLY, timid. ⚠ The family occurs five times in the New Testament and the distribution is the point: the disciples in the storm (Matthew 8:26, Mark 4:40), the spirit God did not give (2 Timothy 1:7, deilia), the verb at John 14:27 (deiliaō, found nowhere else) — and Revelation 21:8, where TOIS DEILOIS heads the list of those whose share is the lake of fire. ⚠ Every other item on that list names something DONE; the first names something FELT, which for churches under pressure to sacrifice to Caesar is the item most likely to apply. And the last thing Jesus says to his friends in the upper room is the same word. → first discussed at Rev 21:8
