Time as DURATION — the stretch a calendar or a clock measures; the root of 'chronology' and 'chronic'. Paired with kairos, its opposite number, in the formal phrase 'times or seasons' (Acts 1:7; 1 Thessalonians 5:1; and in the Greek of Daniel 2:21).
