At Numbers 35:33 unavenged blood corrupts a LAND; at Daniel 11:32, already on these pages, a king corrupts PEOPLE ‘with smooth words’. This translation prints the same English verb in both so a reader can see it is one word. ⚠ The shelf mostly reaches for a different metaphor — ‘pollute’ and ‘defile’ (KJV, ASV, Geneva 1599, NIV, NWT 1984), «contaminar» across most of the Spanish shelf, with the TNM 1987 alone printing «corromper» and its own 2019 revision dropping back to «contaminar».
