SWARM — the name of the fourth plague, and the Hebrew never says a swarm of WHAT. The root suggests 'mixture,' which has produced three readings: swarms of flies (the KJV supplies 'flies'), the dog-fly specifically (the Greek Old Testament), or a mixed horde of wild animals (a strand of Jewish tradition). ⚠️ This translation keeps the bare 'swarms.'
