LITTLE LAMB — a diminutive of arēn, lamb, and the word Revelation uses for Christ twenty-nine times, never once switching to amnos, the plain word for lamb used of Christ at John 1:29, 1:36, Acts 8:32, and 1 Peter 1:19. ⚠ Its first and defining use (5:6) is a deliberate mismatch: an elder announces a conquering Lion (5:5), and John turns to see a Lamb, standing as though slain — the small, diminutive word, not a predator's, standing at the center of the throne. The same word will carry a slaughtered animal all the way to a wedding (19:7,9) and a city with no need of the sun, because 'the Lamb is its lamp' (21:23). → first discussed at Rev 5:6
