FOUNDER, ORIGINATOR, PIONEER — one who goes first and opens a way that others then follow, sometimes a chief or leader in the more ordinary sense. ⚠ Acts 3:15 calls Jesus 'the archēgos of life' in the same breath that accuses the crowd of killing him — a founder killed at the founding. The word returns twice in Hebrews, both times of Jesus as the one who goes ahead: 'the archēgos of their salvation' made perfect through suffering (2:10), and 'the archēgos and perfecter of faith' (12:2).
