'UNCIRCUMCISED OF LIPS' — Moses' objection in Exodus 6:12, 30: his mouth is unfit, unconsecrated, as if closed by a foreskin. The Bible uses the image for more than the body: there are uncircumcised EARS that cannot hear (Jeremiah 6:10) and uncircumcised HEARTS that will not yield (Deuteronomy 10:16; Jeremiah 4:4).
