PEOPLES — the ordinary plural, and this project's own kept exception to a shelf-wide collapse. Deuteronomy 33:3's chovev amim, ‘he loves peoples’, is genuinely plural in the Hebrew; in context, flanked by v5's ‘all the tribes of Israel together’, the most natural sense is Israel's own constituent tribal peoples rather than a sudden universalist claim about the nations of the earth. KJV, ASV, NWT 1984 and NIV all read a flat singular, ‘the people’; this translation keeps the plural. → first discussed at Deut 33:3
