The word saturates 2 John: five times in the first three verses (loved IN truth, all who KNOW the truth, the truth that REMAINS in us, grace and peace 'in truth and love'). It behaves less like a set of correct statements than like a place you can stand in and walk in — one can 'walk in truth' (v. 4) the way one walks in a road. ⚠️ The letter's whole argument depends on truth and love being welded rather than balanced: the refusal of hospitality in vv. 10-11 is offered as an APPLICATION of love, not an exception to it.
