A RIDDLE — the word English borrowed as 'enigma'. 1 Corinthians 13:12 says we see 'in a riddle', which the KJV renders 'darkly', turning a problem of MEANING into a problem of lighting. What we have now is not a faint image but a puzzle — something stated in a form that must be worked out.
