The AFTER-PART — the latter end, the outcome, what a thing finally comes to; and often, in the prophets, one's posterity. Jeremiah 29:11 pairs it with tikvah to give the famous 'a future and a hope', but acharit is less like a bright horizon than like the back end of a story: 'to give you an OUTCOME and a hope.'
