A stop on the wilderness itinerary, and the place where Deuteronomy 10:6 says Aaron died and was buried — on the road up from Beeroth-bene-jaakan, with no mountain anywhere in the sentence. ⚠⚠ Numbers puts that death somewhere else. Numbers 20:22-29 and Numbers 33:38 both have Aaron die on mount Hor, on the border of Edom, stripped of the high-priestly garments in front of his son at the top of the mountain. The two itineraries also run in opposite directions: Numbers 33:30-31 travels Moseroth → Bene-jaakan, and this verse travels Beeroth-bene-jaakan → Moserah — the same two stops, reversed. This project does not choose between the accounts and does not smooth either of them; the note at Deuteronomy 10:6 sets them side by side. ★ The Geneva Bible of 1599 chose, in a marginal line: ‘This mountain was also called Hor, Num. 20:28.’ ⚠ Moserah is not identified. No coordinates are given on this entry, deliberately — the name means something like ‘chastisement’ or ‘bond’, and every proposed location for it is an inference from the surrounding stops rather than from anything found on the ground. The neighbouring names of v7, Gudgodah and Jotbathah, are unidentified too; Jotbathah is described in the Hebrew as eretz nachalei mayim, a land of watercourses, which is the only physical detail any of the three carries.
