'God sows' — a town on the eastern edge of the great valley that carries its name, the flat plain running from Megiddo to the Jordan where northern armies met. AHAB had a palace there, beside NABOTH's vineyard (1 Kings 21), and it is where JEHU's coup was carried out in 2 Kings 9-10: Joram shot and thrown on Naboth's field, Jezebel dropped from a window, and seventy of Ahab's sons beheaded with their heads stacked at the gate. ⚠ 2 Kings 10:30 has God COMMEND Jehu for it; Hosea 1:4 says he will call the house of Jehu to account for 'the blood of Jezreel.' Both are in the canon, and neither text explains the other.
