Jazer approximate

A town with dependent villages north of Heshbon, and the target of the only mission in the book of Numbers described with the verb ragal, to spy out (Numbers 21:32). It is later allotted to Gad and named a Levitical city. ⚠ Its location is not settled — Khirbet es-Sar near es-Salt is the most-cited candidate, with several others proposed — so the coordinates here are marked approximate. Isaiah 16:8-9 and Jeremiah 48:32 both remember Jazer for its vines.
