Gath-hepher approximate

Jonah's home town — a village in the territory of Zebulun, in lower Galilee (Joshua 19:13; 2 Kings 14:25), traditionally identified with el-Meshhed, a few miles north-east of what would become NAZARETH. ⚠ That location quietly answers the Pharisees who tell Nicodemus 'search and see: no prophet arises out of Galilee' (John 7:52) — Jonah, a Galilean prophet, had arisen from the next village over. Not to be confused with the Philistine city of Gath.

▶ No films on the shelf yet — archaeology and geography videos get added here as Mr. Librarian finds good ones.
