The SECOND station of the exodus, 'at the edge of the wilderness' (Exodus 13:20; Numbers 33:6-8), reached after Succoth and before the turn back toward the sea. ⚠️ Its location is unidentified — no site has been fixed, which is why this atlas leaves it unmapped rather than guessing. The name may be related to Egyptian khetem, a frontier FORT or fortress-gate, which would suit the edge of Egypt's eastern defenses; from here Israel is told to turn back and camp by the sea (14:2), the manoeuvre that makes Pharaoh think they are wandering lost.
